Sadiq is a professional with expertise in engineering and data science. He holds a BSc (Hons) in Agricultural & Environmental Engineering from Obafemi Awolowo University, where he specialised in the mechanisation of food processing machines. He recently completed a Master’s degree in Data Science from Teesside University. During his studies, he engaged in diverse projects spanning health, business, and language data. His MSc thesis focused on sentiment analysis for the three major Nigerian languages.

He began his career in the construction industry as a site manager, overseeing various projects. After recognising his passion for data, he successfully transitioned into data analytics, working as a data analyst in a business process outsourcing company.

Currently, Sadiq works as a Data Scientist at the Leeds Institute for Data Analytics (LIDA). In this role, he leverages data science techniques for public good, particularly in the health and environment sectors.

Sadiq’s research interests focus on healthcare, specifically, using data science and machine learning to improve patient outcomes and enhance clinical decision-making processes.

In collaboration with the Vulnerability & Policing Futures Research Centre, Sadiq will be undertaking a crucial research project focusing on looked after children in Bradford. He will be looking to understand the determinants associated with these children.
