Ngaire Waine is a Chief Superintendent with 28 years of policing experience. She is currently leading the Public Protection department in Merseyside Police and is lead for addressing violence against women and girls.
Ngaire is an experienced professional who has held a number of challenging senior roles, including three as temporary Assistant Chief Constable. She is recognised for implementing several significant change projects that she has both planned and embedded within the organisation, demonstrating exceptional leadership and innovation. She is also the Co-Director for the N8 Police Research Partnership.
Ngaire has also been a peer inspector for Her Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabulary (HMIC) and the College of Policing and was the Chair of the Superintendents’ Association for the North of England. This equipped her with a knowledge of other forces, a network of contacts and an understanding of the challenges for policing beyond her own force.
