Alix is the Head of Research at His Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabulary and Fire & Rescue Services. She has held research roles across the Home Office covering migration, policing, and fire and rescue.

In her current role Alix is responsible for leading the research and analysis programmes for inspection evaluation, FRS Inspections, super-complaint investigations, and thematic policing inspections. Thematic inspections cover a range of topics such as child protection, investigations, stop and search, service to victims, and violence against women and girls. Across the organisation her role is ensuring research incorporated into inspection design and as inspection evidence. She is also the chair of the HMICFRS Ethics Panel.
