University of York

Storm recently graduated from the University of York with an MsocW Social Work degree. During Storm’s four years studying Social Work, Storm undertook an array of placements, such as working in sexual and domestic violence, drug and alcohol treatment, and child protection settings. For several years, Storm has volunteered alongside the degree, supporting children at risk of criminal and sexual exploitation.

Storm’s research interests include vulnerability, the role of policing in young people’s lives, criminal and sexual exploitation, and sex work.

Storm’s PhD will look at ‘The Role of Policing in Diversionary Interventions with Young People’. In it, Storm will assess how the police work alongside other services such as social work, youth offending, and mental health teams to deliver youth diversion programmes in order to give young people the best possible outcome in their journey towards adulthood.
