Rachel Dubourg and Alexy Buck

Rachel and Alexy work as a job-share and are currently the Chief Social Researchers for the Ministry of Justice. They are also Deputy Directors in the Ministry of Justice’s Data & Analysis Directorate, leading on ‘What Works’.
Rachel studied as a criminologist and has worked as a Government Social Researcher for the Home Office and Ministry of Justice since 1999, leading multi-disciplinary teams working on a wide range of crime and justice policy areas.
Alexy has conducted and published her own research in over 40 academic journals, reports and books; and led inter-disciplinary social science teams both inside and outside of central Government. Before joining the civil service, Alexy headed up a quasi-academic policy research centre focused on access to justice.
