Kate Pickett FRSA FFPH is Professor of Epidemiology at the University of York, where she leads the Public Health and Society research group and is Deputy Director of the Centre for Future Health, and Associate Director of the Leverhulme Centre for Anthropocene Biodiversity.

Kate is the University of York academic lead for Born in Bradford and serves on its Executive. She is co-lead for the Healthy Livelihoods theme for ActEarly and for the Early Years and Prevention theme within the Yorkshire and Humber Applied Research Collaboration.

In the ESRC Vulnerability & Policing Futures Research Centre, Kate will be working on our ‘place-based’ research. This work will bring communities together with practitioners, policymakers and researchers to create deep and shared understanding of the inhibitors, facilitators and opportunities for inter-organisational service provision in policing vulnerabilities. This work will initially take place in Bradford and Kate will contribute her knowledge and experience of its diverse socio-economic and demographic composition and related inequalities, rich data (including linked routine data) resources and partnerships.
