Andy Higgins is the Research Director and currently Interim Director of the Police Foundation, the UK’s independent policing think tank. Since joining the Foundation in 2013 his research and evaluation work has covered crime reduction and problem solving, neighbourhood policing, public priorities, trust and confidence, police governance and prevention. He was a co-author of the Foundation’s Strategic Review of Policing in England and Wales, has served on College of Policing guidelines committees, given evidence to Home Affairs Select Committees and presented at international conferences. He has worked in research and analysis roles within the Metropolitan Police and in commercial qualitative and quantitative market and social research. He has degrees from Oxford and The Open Universities.

Andy will be supporting the Vulnerability & Policing Futures Research Centre with its policy work, offering advice on how to best engage with senior policing and political stakeholders to maximise the impact of the Centre’s work.
