Christian took the role of Deputy Director of the Tackling Child Sexual Abuse Unit in 2018. Christian is responsible for leading Home Office policy on tackling child sexual abuse. In January 2021 the Unit published the Tackling Child Sexual Abuse Strategy, the first of its kind, setting out the government’s vision for preventing, tackling and responding to child sexual abuse in all its forms.

Before his role in the Tackling Child Sexual Abuse Unit, Christian headed up the Public Protection Unit leading on violence against women and girls issues.
